FREQUENTLY ASKED

1. What’s different about American Liquor Co. from other vodkas?

It’s the first and only vodka made from the four classic vodka ingredients: wheat, rye, potato, and corn.

2. Why do you use all four ingredients?

Like America itself, our vodka is a melting pot of the very best this country has to offer and those are the crops the Midwest is known for. We take the best vodkas from all four ingredients and blend them together to create something totally unique.

3. Does American Liquor Co. Vodka have a distinctive taste?

The nose is neutral, vegetal, and sweet. On the palate it’s grainy and dry on the front, becoming full-bodied with a grapey undertone, and followed by a medium finish with some complexity.

4. Why the Midwest?

Because it’s always been about quality and craftsmanship, building a reputation on making things that last. We celebrate that ethos and are proud to be part of a movement of Makers and Doers who are keeping the tradition alive.

5. How is it made?

We use locally grown Winter Wheat, Light Rye, Rio Grande Potato, and White Corn, all locally grown and distilled from Illinois to Idaho. Each is handcrafted in small batches by a family of distillers who belong to our Midwest Makers Cooperative. It’s then artfully blended by our Master Blender, Chris Montana, in Temperance MI.

6. Who is Chris Montana?

Chris is the Master Blender and Co-founder of American Liquor Co. He is a pioneer with a vision — distiller, lawyer, small-business owner, father, community rallyer —a true Renaissance Man. He’s the kind of guy you’d like to sit down with and have a drink.

7. Where can I buy American Liquor Co. Vodka?

Right now, you can purchase our vodka in Michigan and Ohio. For specific locations, visit our Store Locator here www.americanliquor.com/find-us. But stay tuned. We are rapidly expanding and will soon be available in other states and online.

8. Is American Liquor Co. Vodka gluten-free?

We’re very glad you asked! Yes, it is gluten-free. In fact, all vodkas are gluten-free, because gluten, even in wheat, is separated out from the alcohol during the distillation process.

9. What type of glassware should I use?

Whatever works for you! Anything from a highball to ball jar will do. Modern highballs are a handy one-size-fits-all solution. They’re shorter than your classic highball and can hold a thirst-busting 15 oz.

10. What is the best way to store vodka?

Room temperature works just fine but if you like your vodka icy cold and cocktail ready, you can keep it in the freezer. Vodka that’s 80 proof freezes around -16 ̊ F and most freezers are set at 0 ̊ F.

11. What do you mean by ‘Just Vodka’?

Many vodkas contain citric acid, sugar, glycerin, and other additives that don’t have to be listed on the label. You don’t see them on our label because they’re not there. American Liquor Co Vodka is just vodka.

12. How is American Liquor Co Vodka different from some of the expensive European brands?

We believe it’s what’s in the bottle that’s important, not the bottle itself. If you take something that might be on the bottom shelf and put it in a bottle that costs 3X as much, it may look nice, but it’s still bottom shelf quality at a top-shelf price.

13. What about the Maker Community?

We are behind them 1,000%. These are people who are inspired to create something they’re passionate about, share it, and hope others will appreciate it too. It’s happening big time here in the Midwest, and also across the country. That’s what the American Renaissance is all about. And we’re excited to be part of it.
